Classic Civil War bayonet. Known as the model 1855, this triangular .58 caliber socket bayonet was manufactured for the Springfield rifled musket and contracts. Good early battlefield pick-up condition, lacking the locking ring. This example was originally from the collection of the Longstreet museum of Gettysburg, PA. With letter of authenticity.
