Civil War .69 Caliber Buck & Ball Cartridge - Inventory Number: BUL 463

Original Civil War buck & ball cartridge for .69 caliber smoothbore muskets, consisting of a .69 caliber ball with three .31 caliber buckshot. Although far less accurate than the more modern .58 caliber Minie ball, the buck and ball was used with devastating effect at close range throughout the Civil War. The cartridge is 2 ½” in length and is in good condition.

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
