Wonderful pair of Civil War period brass collapsible camp candlesticks. The bases measure 3 ¾” in diameter and screw together to serve as a storage devise for each candle holder. In good condition and still totally functional. These candlesticks have been found among Civil War soldiers' effects, and a similar pair is illustrated in Schuyler, Hartley and Graham's 1864 catalog, as well as on page 137 of Rebels and Yankees/ The Fighting Men of the Civil War by William C. Davis.
