Civil War Canteen with Identification on Spout - Inventory Number: CAN 083 / Sold

Classic Model 1858 Smooth-side example.  Solid specimen with spout and all three sling retention loops intact.  This example has the soldier’s name neatly carved into the spout “J. Lester” with additional inscription which needs additional scrutiny to narrow down the identification.  A very nice example of the soldier’s essential equipment.
