A wonderful and unique civil war insignia. Documented examples of this device have been excavated at Campsites and Battlefields of the Civil War. We have encountered several examples of the drum device, however this is the most ornate and complete assembly as we’ve encountered in our thirty years. This example is suspended by a widespread American Eagle clutching oakleaves, a series of three ornate, embossed links extend 7” in length and terminate into three brass devices.
