Device for "Blood-letting" or cupping. Designed to remove impurities and infections. This device with three blades. The outer sleeve is brass with slab horn overlay affixed via brass pins and the blades are steel. Blade marked "Joseph Rodgers & Sons". As a medical therapy, bleeding or bloodletting endured for approximately 2,500 years. It was only abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century. Nice condition example.
