Civil War Era Pocket / Travel Comb - Inventory Number: PER 428

Made from birch wood and fashioned in two sections to fit together for carrying, these fine-toothed combs were quite suitable for cleaning and delousing (frequently referred to by collectors as louse combs) in addition to meeting simple grooming needs. (see: Gettysburg Visitor’s Center Civil War Museum collection) Each section is approximately 2 5/8 inches long by 1 inch wide and is absolutely period and all original. Depicted for display is a copy of the original tag that accompanied the bundle which these originated not the original label. 

Comes housed in 6 x 8 riker display case with black velvet and descriptive card.
