Civil War Era Rosary / SOLD

Wonderful and complete example of a Civil War vintage rosary. The 3 -inch white metal cross is inlaid with ebony and features skull and crossbones below Jesus, and a crown of thorns motif at the center of the cross at front and back. The iron chain contains 53 wooden beads and 6 carved from bone. The overall length of the rosary outstretched is 26 inches and comes displayed in a riker case with red backing. A beautiful Victorian rosary that would be a nice addition to a collection of solder’s personal effects.    

Comes housed in a 8 x 12 inch display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
