Civil War Lice Comb - Inventory Number: MIS 198 / SOLD
Recovered from a stash in a Brothel in Charleston, S.C.
Constructed of wood. A very nice condition example with no missing teeth or damage. Classic possession of the soldier in the war to rid lice from the scalp as well as a mustache comb and were very popular items which were sold by camp sutlers. This example was recovered from the walls of a building in Charleston, S.C. used for prostitution during the war.
Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
