Confederate black silk mourning cockade measuring 20” wide and 11” in length. Sewn at the center of the cockade is a Confederate “local” North Carolina button with unmarked back. Accompanying the piece is a small paper label with “W.H. Smith” in ink. Possibly a mourning ribbon for a fallen comrade or loved one. A very unique piece of Confederate history.
Comes housed in a 14 x 20 inch display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
