Civil War New Testament / Sold

Pocket New Testament in hardcover with a patriotic insert glued to the inside of the front cover. It depicts an American Flag and banner with the dedication “to the defenders of their country! Presented by the New York Bible Society 1864.” These were purchased by that organization and distributed to the troops. There is significant wear to the bible, but the binding is still solid, and was likely carried in the field by a union soldier.
