Civil War Officer's Headstall and Bit with Interwined U.S.A. Rosettes - Inventory Number: CAV 032 / Sold
This hard to find, original, M1859 headstall is an essential element in any collection of Civil War, cavalry equipment. The headstall. constructed of blackened bridle leather, retains its original trooper's bit, which is a rarity. This headstall features 6 brass equestrian buckles and a gorgeous pair of intertwined "U.S.A." rosettes. The iron bit is in very good condition with no pitting. The overall condition of the leather is neat mint with cracking or flaking to the surface, it would be hard to find a nicer example. Excellent condition example!
