Civil War officer's Sword Knot - Inventory Number: SWO 148 / SOLD
Sword knots were all privately purchased and commercially available from military goods dealers who supplied different types that conformed generally to regulations. An officer might use a leather knot in the field, but dress regulations specified gold bullion. This regulation example is complete with the required strap, turks-head knot and tassels and would make an excellent addition to an officer's sword.
