Civil War Percussion Cap Box - Inventory Number: LEA 216 / Sold

Excellent original example with makers mark “W. Kinsey and Co. Newark N.J.: on interior flap.  The leather is in excellent condition and both belt loops are firmly affixed. The underside of the exterior flap bears a neat ink inscription: “Original Civil War Cap Box – Used in Battle – Sheeps wool retainer inside is worn out.” An excellent example by a scarce maker.
