Civil War Regulation Drumstick Carriage Buckle issued to Civil War Drummer Boys this plate was affixed to the drummer’s sling or belt of the drummer, who would store his drumsticks when not in use. The plate is constructed on heavy sheet brass, the tubes are fashioned of sheet rolled, the contour rings are additional layers of brass, the tubes are attached with rivets, the plate was affixed to a shoulder strap using three wire hooks soldered onto the brass sheet.
