Civil War Spearpoint Bowie Knife - Inventory Number: EDG 109 / SOLD

The handle is constructed of stag panels in very good condition with a silver escutcheon plaque bearing hand, scratched initials on one side, the silver plated, brass cross guard is firmly fixed and mounted with a spearpoint blade. Both cutting edges are sharp and free of major detriments. There are some dark splotches on the blade. The original leather sheath features a two-piece naval button as stud frog. There is an additional leather sheet that was constructed and mounted over the factory sheath during the period that has a belt loop. A very nice Wartime example!
