This is a nicely marked original Civil War naval artillery friction primer box. This is the leather pouch that went on the side of the Civil War naval artilleryman. It held the brass friction primers for firing the cannon. The front is marked "BOSTON”. The side bears the brass finial. On the back of the box is the original leather belt loop solidly intact. Contains the original wood block. This will make a unique addition for a naval or artillery collector.
