Clothing Account Book from Companies G and H, 111th Pennsylvania - Inventory Number: IDE 136 / SOLD

Rare Civil War clothing account book from Companies G and H of the 111th Pennsylvania. The soldiers of those companies signed for their clothing allotments over a three-year period. Each soldier has his own page listing their rank and the value of all clothing issued at a particular date, with the soldier’s signature for each issue. The book is bound in cloth with a leather spine and measures 15 ½” by 12 ½.” The 111th Pennsylvania was part of the 12th Corps and was heavily engaged at Cedar Mountain, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Chattanooga, and the Atlanta Campaign. A scarce Civil War document.
