Colt 1862 Police Hartford Rare 3-digit serial number with 6.5” Barrel! - Inventory Number: HAN 321 / SOLD

This is a low serial number “303” and is all matching numbers including the wedge and the cylinder is numbered in one of the flutes. This is a first-year production Colt 1862 Police with a five shot cylinder and a 6.5” barrel with plum barrel blue. The cylinder retains patina blue and has the Colt patent date in one of the flutes. Not all fluted cylinders have Patent Dates. The bore is good. The frame has dark case colors, and the grips retain 50%+ varnish. The iron trigger guard and back strap have a nice matching uncleaned patina. Iron grip and trigger guard with a Hartford barrel address are very hard to find and this is # 303, a very early revolver.
