Colt Navy Holster - Inventory Number: LEA 394
Nice solid example of the standard issue holster used during the Civil War for infantry, cavalry and artillery troops. Designed to fit the M1860 Colt Army and the M1858 Remington as well, this item can also be used for the Colt Navy patterns and several other percussion revolvers of the era. The smooth leather body shows the formed impression of a revolver cylinder, wedge, and lever assembly. The base plug is present and sound and seam stitching is tight. The belt loop is present and affixed via 1 copper rivet. Whether this is a private purchase, Confederate, or civilian holster is not clear by construction, however, it is an awesome example.
