Confederate Cavalry Saber / SOLD

Classic Confederate cavalry saber of unknown manufacture, coined the “Dog River” variety by collectors. The saber is in semi-relic condition and was possibly an early battlefield pickup or barn find. The blade has an unstopped fuller with a slick black patina and deep pitting throughout. The guard is sand cast and exhibits all the characteristics of Confederate manufacture and appears to have been lightly polished long ago. The two-piece wood grip is an old replacement. The overall length is 39 ½”. An authentic and classic Confederate cavalry saber at a very affordable price.
