Confederate Identified Civil War Pistol Cartridge Box belonging to Robert T. Hume, VA 4th Cavalry - Inventory Number: CON 457 / SOLD

This is an original leather cartridge box for the Civil War revolver.  Identified to Confederate The leather is supple and presents brownish black.  The outer flap exhibits some heavy flaking of the finish. The brass finial is present on the bottom of the box.  The closure tab is present and in good condition.  On the back side of the box retains both original leather loops. An old, typed collection tag bears the history of the original identification.

Robert T. Hume - Enlisted on 4/24/1861 as a Sergeant. On 4/2/1861 he mustered into “C” Co. VA 4th Cavalry.
