Confederate General James J. Archer's Commissary Report Signed with Cerificate of Authenticity - One page, 7.75" x 9.75", Wyoming Territory, September 30, 1850. Archer was tasked with examining "certain Commissary Stores" and here files a report. He has signed at the lower right corner as captain of the 4th Infantry commanding. Archer (1817-1864) resigned his commission a year and a half later and joined the Confederate Army, rising to the rank of brigadier general. He was captured at the Battle of Gettysburg and died of ill health six months before the end of the war.
