Socket Bayonet Scabbard and Bayonet 

.58 Caliber – Triangular Bayonet with original leather scabbard, 7 rivet, 1864 contract with the period addition of a carriage finial riveted to the frog to facilitate another method of attachment.  These carriage finials are as often encountered as lead finials on cartridge boxes, cap boxes and holsters.  Just a neat Confederate alteration!
