Civil War Confederate States $1,000 Bond - Inventory Number: CUR 084 / SOLD

Confederate States of America $1000 Bond and Coupons. The top section of the bond is encased in a border with scroll work designs at each corner.   Text is written vertically in the border on both sides, on the left, [SIX PER CENT PER ANNUM], and on the right [ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS].  In bold lettering in the center title reads, [Confederate / STATES OF AMERICA.] This CSA bond was issued in Richmond.  It is Criswell number 144B and Ball number 325. The $1000 bond serial number 9248 authorized by the Act of 17 February 1864 was issued on 1 March 1864. It was lithographed by Evans & Cogswell Richmond VA.  It was signed by E. Apperson. The 60 coupons were signed by Robert Tyler. It features the Great Seal of the Confederate States of America.  A total of 10,700 were issued.  Nicely framed and ready for display.  Fram measures 26 inches x 38 inches.
