Skillfully carved 19th century briar wood pipe bowl. The base of the bowl has decorated protruding legs that allow the pipe to be self-standing. On the left and right of the bowl are hand carved star shaped flowers applied with a nail through the center of each. The rim of the bowl is carved similarly to the base. The wood is polished smooth from use and retains a nice, aged patina. Measures 1 ¾” tall and 3” from the front to the end of the stem. This would be an attractive addition to a display of Civil War soldier’s personal effects.
