Engineer's Drafting Kit - Inventory Number: MIS 081 / Sold

Fine Example of a Civil War drafting kit used by engineers.  This rosewood cased example features a blue velvet lining and all of the original brass and steel instruments in the fitted self as well as a parallel rule and brass rule in the under compartment.  The bright blue velvet lined contains a hidden compartment for paper. The lid bears a lightwood inlay with carved initials R.B..  The under compartment bears pencil identification "Robert B. Brown."  The paper covered base has retains an original retailers label: “James W. Queen - Optical Mathematical, Philosophical, Instruments 264 Chestnut St. Philada.”  As wonderful example as we’ve encountered.
