Dug U.S. box plate in very good condition. It still has one iron attachment loop and retains 100 percent of the lead backing. The face has sharp detail and a slick, dark brown patina. Excavated in Falmouth, Virginia, site of the Army of the Potomac’s encampment during the winter of 1862-1863. A nice example with great character.
Comes housed in a 6 x 8 display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
