Dug Civil War carbine sling buckle, which fastened the leather sling that carried the trooper’s carbine. This is a nice example with a purple and green patina, and the hooks still swing freely. Excavated in Falmouth, Virginia, site of the Army of the Potomac’s encampment during the winter of 1862-1863.
Comes housed in a 5 x 6 inch display case with velvet backing and descriptive card.
