Full Plate Tintype of Union Cavalryman - Partial Identification

Full Plate Tintype of Union Cavalryman - Inventory Number: HAR 193

Nicely tinted with gold gilt, this full plate tintype measures 6 ¼” x 8 ½” and features a young trooper wearing a forage cap with a portion of the crossed sabers and regiment visible on the crown.  Nice detail to his face for a full plate.  The back has the name "W. Mitchell" scratched in the surface.  No research conducted.

Comes housed in 8 inch x 12 inch riker display case with red velvet backing and descriptive card.
