G.A.R. Leather Belt / SOLD

Grand Army of the Republic White leather belt worn by union Civil War veterans at meetings and reunions. The leather is still supple, and the cream-colored paint is in excellent condition. The gilt brass buckle bears the letters “G.A.R.” with anchor, cannon, sabers, and crossed rifles at each corner. The belt is adjusted via a sliding cast brass frame buckle with an attractive scrolled design. A nice addition to a Civil War veteran or reunion display.
