Oversized Civil War mess cup manufactured in the regulation style with reinforced handle.  The cup measures nearly 7” wide and 4 ½” deep.  Tinned iron with a single looped handle over the back seam reinforced with bail wire. The size of this cup suggests its use in a cookhouse for preparing larger meals. A highly unique example for a Civil War camp display.
