    Historical Staffordshire Mulberry Plate - Inventory Number: MIS 085 / SOLD

    Heraldic American Eagle with a Banner Reading: "E Pluribus Unum"

    Historical Staffordshire Patriotic Design Mulberry Transferware, Ironstone Plate, in the "Gem" Pattern by R. Hammersley.  Very fine.  This impressive plate measures 8.75" in diameter and carries the "R. Hammersley" mark on its back.  

    This beautiful plate features the central image of a spread wing, Federal, type Patriotic Heraldic American Eagle  perched on a Federal Shield with a banner beneath that reads, "E Pluribus Unum".  This pattern also features a wide aesthetic design, geometric border being the Mulberry Transferware pattern Ironestone, produced by for the American Market.  This beautiful Mulberry Transfer Decorate, Staffordshire Ironstone Plate is in very nice condition.  There are no chips, cracks, or repairs.  The transfer decoration is dark, bold, and beautiful while the pottery ground has some expected very light tone.  Overall, this is a well-preserved example of this outstanding Historical Staffordshire.
