 Hotchkiss Artillery Shell - Inventory Number:  ART 450 / SOLD

Nose section of a US 3-inch Hotchkiss shell. Exterior has a light surface rust with some original finish visible in areas. The surface is mostly smooth but does show some light scattered pitting around the nose. An early museum collection number is painted on in silver 1” numerals “790”.

Shell has three flame grooves and a fuse hole that still has visible threads.
