Lap Desk - CAM 358 / SOLD

Wonderful original Civil War writing desk constructed of leather veneer covered pasteboard.  This style of desk was popular throughout the war on both sides due to its lightweight design and functionality.  It features an accordion pocket for: "Letters Answered / Letters Unanswered / Notes and Addresses."  Exterior has finely embossed designs and a bright gold gilt accent.  Complete with original brass key, functional.
