Stunning and highly sought after "Liberty & Union" mid-19th gentleman's Sheffield Dirk Self-defense Weapon. This two bladed beauty is emblazoned with "LIBERTY AND UNION" on the cross guard. The cross-guard and pommel are silver. The pommel bears the patriotic motif of an eagle, shield, and panoply of arms. The ricasso is marked "Best English Cutlery". Polished horn handle is in good condition with two small repairs. An outstanding example of a hightly desirable knife from this time period.
