Circa 1900 photograph of elderly women at the High-Water Mark of the Rebellion monument, dedicated in 1892. The photograph measures 9” by 7” and is slightly curled at the edges where the adhesive has separated. Mounted on a gray mat with M. F. Williams embossed marking.
Marian F. Williams (1867-1929) was a lifelong Gettysburg resident and prominent battlefield photographer. Popularly known as “Max” Williams, he operated a studio in a building behind his home. He became the official photographer for Carlisle Barracks.
