Civil War Era Bleeder Device. Surgeon's bloodletting medical fleam bleeder with three blades. The outer sleeve is brass and the blades are made of steel. As a medical therapy, bleeding or bloodletting endured for approximately 2,500 years. It was only abandoned at the beginning of the 19th century. Excavated from Virginia.
