    Model 1855 Rifleman's Belt Rig From Gettysburg Museum - Inventory Number: BEL 104 / SOLD

    Black bridle leather example with original frog device for the 1855 saber bayonet.  Belt retains its original choice condition four-piece belt plate.  There is a small tear on one of the two suspension straps and the retention tab and buckle are lacking.  There is an original ink inscription on the interior of the belt which may be discerned with some effort, the date of May 1862 is clearly visible,  This item was originally from the collection of General Robert E. Lee's Headquarters Museum in Gettysburg.  Comes with certificate of authenticity and information regarding the collection.
