Model 1858 Smooth Side Canteen / SOLD

Classic Civil War US issued smooth side canteen. This one is missing the bottom strap loop and has some dents from use. One of the loops has a hole punched in it for the stopper chain, which is typical of New York Depot canteens. The pewter spout retains a post-war stopper with brass chain attachment device. The original brown jean cloth cover is in very good condition. The classic Union Civil War canteen.
