Mounted Artillery Soldier with Glass Eye! - Inventory Number: HAR 123 / SOLD
CDV size tintype in excellent condition mounted in its original wooden frame with brass preserver. Full standing view of a young mounted artilleryman with light blue mounted trousers and an artillery shell jacket with nicely executed red tinted trim. He wears an 1858 forage cap with regimental brass on top. His right eye is an artificial eye with no detail of iris or pupil and, clearly more prominently open than his other eye. Painted backdrop with soldiers marching at the base of a fort with large American flag flying above. Great condition and content, a unique find!
