Officer's Eagle Head Watch Chain - Inventory Number: PER 332 / SOLD

Mexican to Civil War. 12 ½” long.  Intricate woven brass chain in the form of 3/16” rope with 1” long brass eagle head finial. A ring on the end of the beak is affixed to the cross bar for attaching to a buttonhole.  The opposite end had a decorative brass cap with threaded collar and hanger to attach to a watch.  Some gold gilt remains on the brass.  An extraordinary patriotic officer’s accessory, the like which is seldom encountered. 

Comes housed in 6 inch x 8 inch riker display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
