Best known for arranging the last-minute defense of Little Round Top during the Battle of Gettysburg and is often referred to as the "Hero of Little Round Top."
Very nice war-date example "May 1862", signed as Colonel of the 5th New York Volunteer infantry, as also known as "Duryée's Zouaves", "Commanding Brigade, Hanover Courthouse". Mounted to a cabinet card stock with detailed ink inscription of the General's military career.
Comes housed in a display case with black velvet backing and descriptive card.
