Button depicts state seal of Pennsylvania, two horses over a coat of arms with symbolism of agriculture and commerce, intended for officers of Pennsylvania militia units. This die pattern features the horses both facing inward was the prevalent style after the war. Backmark: "WATERBURY BUTTON CO / (dot) WATERBURY (dot)" dm between inner ring of dots, manufactured after the Civil War. Three part officer staff button, coat size. Six cuff buttons are affixed to a section of the original cuff facings. Eight coat sized buttons are affixed to a section of the original coat tail. Twelve coat sized non affixed buttons. Twenty-six total buttons.
