Patriotic Bowie Knife - Inventory Number: EDG 063 / SOLD

Silver mounted Bowie knife with lightly etched panel on blade reading: "Virtue - Liberty - Independence".  Measure 12 5/8 overall with a 7 1/4" blade.  Accompanied by an excellent condition silver mounted sheath with gold embossed trim.  Handle is constructed of cast horn with hand filed accents.  The blade is clearly maker marked: "john Lingard's Celebrated Bowie Knife - Peacroft Sheffield".  outstanding example of the classic soldiers' Bowie.
