Pattern 1861 Cartridge Box / SOLD

Early War pattern 1861 cartridge box for the .58 caliber Minie ball. The outer flap is in very good condition with supple leather and all its original finish, and still retains the original US box plate with a rich uncleaned patina. The exterior closure flap, rear belt loops, and roller buckles are all present and complete. The maker mark of C.S. Storms New York is present on each end of the box. The inner flap retains both ears, and both interior cartridge tins are present. The implement pouch is present with some tears throughout but is still attached. A nice representative Civil War cartridge box.
