Pennsylvania State Seal Coat Button - Inventory Number: BUT 307 / SOLD
This is a beautiful original non-excavated civil war coat size button for the state of Pennsylvania. It depicts the state seal with superb detail. It has the coat of arms in the center that features a ship at the top with a plow in the center and three sheaves of wheat at the bottom. There are two horses supporting the shield and an eagle that has spread wings that create a crest. The face of the button has nearly all the gold gilt intact and has a fine look.
Button card was de-accessed from the “The National Civil War Life Museum” of Fredericksburg, VA which featured thousands of items pertaining to the daily life of the Civil War Soldier and the era.
