Heavy wood drum canteen circa 1775-1790’s. Two convex sides are held together by thick wooden staves and crude iron strapping. The mouthpieces are hollowed out branches that are integral to each stave they’re attached to. The canteen body measures 8” by nearly 5” thick. Typical wear and scratches from years of hard use. A wonderful early canteen with great character.
