Section of Confederate Scabbard / SOLD

This 23” section of a scabbard for a Confederate manufactured “Dog River” cavalry saber.  This unique relic was recently acquired from a local Gettysburg auction.  The metal has been cleaned, highlighting the copper brazed seam and lead solder which secured the brass mounts.  The original brass throat device is still present.  Neat relic and example of classic construction of a CS made scabbard.
