Silver Patriotic Snuff Box - Sold
Outstanding silver snuff box depicting a pair of engraved American eagles. Measures approximately 3 1/4" x 1 7/8" x 5/8" deep. Throughout the Civil War snuff production boomed. It was even recommended by doctors as a general cure-all, particularly effective in the treatment of coughs, colds, and headaches. Many soldiers carried snuff in their haversacks.
